About minilabs

Our Mission

minilabs is a carefully curated library of free web tools — small, sharp, single-purpose utilities that do exactly one thing and do it well. We believe the best tools are the ones you don't notice: they load instantly, work intuitively, and get out of your way.

In a web cluttered with bloated apps, paywalls, and sign-up forms, minilabs offers a cleaner alternative. No accounts. No ads. No distractions. Just the digital tools you need, when you need them.

What We Build

Our library spans several categories of utility. Our measurement tools include a precise on-screen ruler that you can calibrate to any display, supporting both inches and centimeters. Future releases will expand into more engineering tools for quick calculations and technical reference.

We also build everyday utilities — discount calculators, sleep schedulers, hydration trackers, and other digital tools that solve common problems without unnecessary complexity. Each tool is designed to be fully functional in under one second of load time.

Design Philosophy

Every tool on minilabs follows a strict set of principles:

Why We Built This

The idea for minilabs came from a simple frustration: finding a basic online ruler, calculator, or converter meant sifting through SEO-optimized pages full of ads, pop-ups, and blog posts before reaching the actual tool. We wanted a place where the tool is the page — no fluff, no filler. A home for free web tools that respect your time and attention.

Open Source

minilabs is built with Astro and is open source. We believe in transparent, community-driven development. You can find our code on GitHub, report issues, suggest new digital tools, or contribute to existing ones.
